We did it again! By a narrow margin, we placed first in this years Potrero War Siege Cook Off! The Right Noble Upper Crust Cooking Guild once again took first place in this year’s Potrero War Siege Cook Off! What a great group effort was seen by all involved, thanks to all who helped and volunteered to help us pull off such a wonderful feast! This year’s challenge took us out of our comfort zone, focusing on the Siege of Tenochtitlan by the Spanish army, of 1521. With sacks of over 70 unlabeled ingredients, we had 24 hours to identify and prepare an 8 course meal for 2. This was not only a venture into New World ingredients, but also recipe’s used by the Aztec’s, like yucca flour, Muscovy duck and chia seeds.
